moving, milestones and meditations

First blog post on a brand new website! I thought the fresh site would be almost like a fresh start with my business.

A fresh start for a fresh location and a fresh me.

Because I know I haven't said anything official about it yet, but most people have figured it out - I will be relocating back to New Jersey in a little under 2 months. March 1st, to be exact.

I am excited, terrified, and overjoyed all at once. I'll be living closer to family. Closer to my father, and that's fantastic, but these past two years have been so freeing. I've learned more about myself these past two years living in Kansas than I ever did before. Being away from everyone and everything familiar has an overshadowing sense of freedom that accompanies it.

But I'm ready for a change. Not only in location, but in my photography as well.

I love each and every one of my clients. It is because of you guys that I've made it this far. You have all helped me to grow in my journey, but as I come up on my 2 year milestone, I can't help but feel that I've lost my way a bit in my photography.

Don't get me wrong, I love capturing every happy family, the smiling kids, the big milestones. The couples and weddings and seniors. But with this fresh start, I believe a fresh outlook is in order, as well.

Moving back to New Jersey is a chance to get back to my roots. To shoot for myself more, and to find that passion that originally drove me to pursue photography professionally.

I can't wait for the doors that are opening for me, and welcome them all with open arms.

I hope you'll all stick around for the ride, and see what more I can create!
